It all started when my husband got me a DSLR camera for Christmas because I’d expressed an interest in “taking fancy food pictures”. Well, that’s a lie, because it didn’t start there. I was so intimidated by all the buttons and so busy with work, that it sat in the box for a couple of years. When I finally decided to give it a go, I fell in love. I developed a voracious appetite for learning about lighting and composition (as well as an equally voracious appetite for shopping for dishes and pretty napkins!). It hit me that I could make this into something and pursue a future as a professional food photographer. I had found a way to combine my creative outlets, the detail-oriented customer service skills honed at work, and an unparalleled obsession with dishes and kitchen gadgets into one rewarding passion.
I’m local to Dallas, Texas where I live with my husband and a small menagerie of feline friends. When we’re not playing servant to our four-legged companions, we like spending time with friends and family, exploring new foodie finds in our area, and enjoying sloth nights on the couch streaming a good series, eating our weight in Thai food. My favorite food is bread, I’ve rarely met a chocolate dessert I didn’t like, and my blood type is coffee and cabernet sauvignon.
Frequently Asked Question: How’d you come up with the name: Gonna Need A Bigger Kitchen?
Rarely does a week go by where I don’t pull something out of the oven and realize I have nowhere to set it… If I had a dollar for every time I muttered “I have GOT to get a bigger kitchen,” I would already have one.
